Post-Privatization Renegotiation and Disputes in Chile

Chile started its reform process in the late 1980s. As one of the countries with the longest and deepest privatization experience, Chile provides a good case study. This paper analyzes a series of post-privatization
disputes and renegotiations that have taken place in the electricity sector since the late 1980s.
The paper also assesses how that experience was internalized in the design of the regulatory framework for highway concessions.
